Willersley Castle provides schools with a truly unique residential experience full of character and charm. Set within a historic 18th-century castle and 65 acres of stunning Peak District grounds, it is our most intimate centre, with space for up to just 130 pupils. The smaller scale creates a safe, close-knit atmosphere where every group feels valued and supported. We offer a wide range of expert-led activities, high-quality en suite accommodation, and even the option of summer glamping – all delivered with the care and attention Manor Adventure is known for.

Willersley Castle combines historic charm with modern comfort, offering high-quality en suite accommodation designed for schools. With space for up to 130 pupils, the centre provides a safe and personal residential experience. Pupils stay in dedicated en suite rooms, while teachers are also provided with well-appointed en suite rooms. A duty manager is on call 24/7, giving schools complete peace of mind throughout their stay. For summer visits, a unique glamping option within the castle grounds adds an adventurous twist, all while maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.

Willersley Castle is set within 65 acres of private grounds on the edge of the Peak District, overlooking the River Derwent. Located in Cromford, near Matlock Bath, it is easily reached from the M1 and within two hours of Birmingham, Manchester, and Sheffield.

Courses at Willersley Castle

Schools can choose from three core residential options. Our two-night stay offers nine activity sessions packed into three days. The Monday-Friday residential, our most popular package, offers 19 expertly led activities. For schools seeking our most affordable option, our weekend residentials (Friday-Sunday or Friday-Monday) deliver up to 14 activity sessions. Each course offers activities from 9am to 8.30pm every day including evening outdoor pursuits.
