Key Stage 3 & 4
Manor Adventure provide your secondary school's residential activity course in line with the National Curriculum's Physical Education, Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Key Stages 3 and 4.
Each activity begins with a safety talk and a demonstration of the equipment to be used. This helps us to teach pupils about the risks and hazards associated with each activity and how they can be controlled by using the correct safety equipment and techniques. Using unfamiliar equipment such as buoyancy aids, helmets, ropes and climbing harnesses is necessary before taking part in many of the activities we provide. We give pupils a good working knowledge of how to take part in each activity, before allowing them to do so under the supervision of our professional instructors.
During the teamwork activities, pupils will learn how the decisions that they make can assist and support their friends. Some elements of the courses will require a group of pupils to work together successfully in order to solve a problem or make a decision about how to progress.
During the individual activities such as archery and fencing, pupils are able to practise and refine their technique and develop new skills that will stay with them for life. Our instructors specialise in different areas and between them have National Governing Body qualifications that enable them to give expert tuition. Examples include the Grand National Archery Association Leader Award and British Fencing Association Teaching Award.
