England

South Shropshire is one of the most beautiful counties in Britain, boasting a range of undulating hills and valleys far from today's crowded cities. It is probably one of today's best kept secrets for walkers, as you'll be guaranteed the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Manor Adventure is conveniently located in the Corvedale between the Wenlock Edge and the historic market town of Ludlow, famous for its 11th Century castle and its gourmet restaurants. The area is totally unspoilt and as yet does not attract many tourists! Manor Adventure offers guided walks, which tend to be around 10-12 miles in length. The variety is enormous, ranging from gentle flat country walks to walks in the Shropshire Hills or town walks in Ludlow and Shrewsbury. We aim to visit and see as many places of interest as possible.

Wales

Mid Wales has one of the most idyllic countrysides in Britain. With its beautiful clean air and low light pollution makes for the most spectacular scenery of forests, mountains, hidden valleys and many conservation sites that surround Llanwrtyd Wells, providing a habitat for many rare species of flora and fauna.

With the successful repopulation of the Red Kite following its near extinction in this area, you will be certain to see them soaring wild and free in the skies above.

For the more restful, the mountains, valleys and surrounding villages can be explored by a scenic car tour or using the Heart of Wales railway line.

There are many old Roman roads, ancient standing stones, tiny chapels and churches to discover as well as small spa towns and local farmers market town.

Abernant Lake Hotel is located in Llanwrtyd Wells, once a spa town following the discovery of waters with amazing healing properties in 1732. It sits astride the River Irfon and the A483 between Llandovery and Builth Wells well known for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show which takes place in July.

Scotland

The lowlands of Scotland afford some of the best walking terrain in the British Isles. The rolling hills around Lockerbie are the perfect place to explore this majestic country by foot.

All around is the evidence of the turbulent historic border between England and Scotland as two nations fought over disputed territory. Footpaths are well marked and there is an excellent choice of easy strolls as well as more challenging terrain, all within a few miles of our well-equipped centre at Lockerbie Manor.

However, we recommend that inexperienced walkers stay within our designated walking groups.

- Small personalised groups of no more than 8.
- If the walk does not start or end at our centres, transport will be provided free of charge.
- Wednesday is a free day with the option to participate in the activities that are being offered at the activity centre.
- Packed lunches are provided but we will endeavour to stop at a pub for lunch. (Optional extra).
- If this is your first walking holiday it is worth budgeting in a good pair of walking boots (worn in before arrival), a small rucksack and waterproof trousers and jacket. (Boots and cagoules can be hired for only £15 per week).
