This delightful French château was built in 1714. It is situated in 40 acres of beautiful parkland, with its own private lake and is a superb location for a family activity holiday. The greatest memory many guests say they have when staying at Le Château du Broutel is not its history, or its works of art, but its breathtaking setting. Located on the outskirts of the historical town of Rue (view map of Le Château du Broutel), a small rural town situated between Le Touquet and Abbeville near the Picardy beaches, there is a wealth of historic and cultural attractions locally, catering for every possible taste and interest: some of the best golf courses in France, beautiful wide sandy beaches, Disneyland® Resort Paris and Parc Asterix theme parks, water parks, Paris, Amiens and Le Touquet for shopping, and the Somme Battlefields. There really is something for the whole family!
Accommodation/Facilities
Le Château du Broutel has 3 separate accommodation complexes:
The Château - 10 en suite rooms.
The Ecurie - renovated in 2001, has 30 en suite rooms and incorporates the restaurant.
The Normandy Barn - was transformed into 15 en suite rooms in 2005.
We use the Ecurie and the Normandy Barn for our family activity holidays as the rooms are better suited for longer stays. Here, we are also able to allocate children in adjacent rooms to their parents. Most bathrooms have showers rather than baths.
Food
Full board is provided for the duration of the holiday with the exception of lunch not being offered on your free day (this will be either Sunday or Thursday depending on your holiday duration). Children are welcome to join their parents in the evenings, the majority however prefer to take high tea at 6pm to take advantage of the evenings programme. An allowance is given against the family holiday meal which can be used to upgrade against a more expensive menu or to try the à la carte if you wish. Please note that drinks are not included.
