Family Activity Holidays France
Le Château du Broutel
This delightful French château was built in 1714. It is situated in 40 acres of beautiful parkland, with its own private lake and is a superb location for a family activity holiday in France. The greatest memories for many guests include the history, its works of art, and its breathtaking setting.
Located on the outskirts of the historical town of Rue, near the Picardy beaches, there is a wealth of historic and cultural attractions locally, catering for every possible taste and interest: some of the best golf courses in France, beautiful wide sandy beaches, Disneyland® Resort Paris and Parc Asterix theme parks, Paris, Amiens and Le Touquet for shopping, and the Somme Battlefields. There really is something for the whole family!

Le Château du Broutel France has 2 separate accommodation complexes: The Château with 10 en suite rooms, and The Ecurie - renovated in 2001, has 30 en suite rooms and incorporates the restaurant. We use the Ecurie for our family activity holidays as the rooms are better suited for longer stays. Here, we are also able to allocate children in adjacent rooms to their parents. However Château rooms are available at a supplement.
Full board is provided for the duration of the holiday with the exception of lunch and dinner not being offered on Thursday, your free day. Children are welcome to join their parents in the evenings, the majority however prefer to take high tea at 6pm to take advantage of the evenings programme. An allowance is given against the family holiday meal which can be used to upgrade against a more expensive menu or to try the à la carte if you wish. Please note that drinks are not included.

Testimonials from parents
Dear Mandy, just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks again to everyone for the great holiday. We all had a superb time, and tried activities that we hadn't tried before. An added, and unexpected , bonus was to be able to leave our sons with the instructors for the day, so we could have some adult-only time. Bliss for everyone!
Wishing you all much success for the future, you have a great set-up.

I think it is fair to say we are in shell shock. Never has returning home been so hard for myself and my family. For this we must send a big thank you to Mandy, Davy and his team at the Château. I know when I send this that I speak not only for myself and family but also all the other families we had the pleasure of spending a week with.
The setting is beautiful, peaceful and idyllic. The quality of the accommodation was far beyond what anyone had in mind for an adventure holiday, no matter how good. In fact it was beautiful, full of character and extremely well maintained. A real treat. The food was the best I have ever experienced - positively 5 star. Even the children's menu, whilst catering for all tastes, was outstanding and I know they loved the frogs leg taster session laid on for them (who would have thought it).
The activities were exciting, safe, inclusive and therefore fun for all. The laid back approach to choosing your own sessions and opting out if you wanted to just added to the holiday feel but meant that everyone got involved without feeling they had to. Kids club from 9 to 9 each day. As a working Mum my children have much experience of adventure kids clubs and therefore see them as something they have to do. So I didn't even tell the children that there was a club available. In fact I never said a word but you couldn't keep them away! They met a whole bunch of new friends they loved hanging out with and chose most of their activities to be with them. They couldn't get out of bed fast enough and slept like logs. They had so much to share with us about the fun they were having, but best of all we were there to share it with them. Simply wonderful.
The staff were ALL professional, happy and helpful. Nothing was too much for them and their enthusiasm was infectious. I can honestly say that there was no margin for improvement. As a Mother with two children I must say this holiday is a breath of fresh air. The best ever, and we have done a lot. The Children preferred it to all the expensive Skiing, Water park, Them park, Beach etc. holidays we have enjoyed in the past. I didn't have to organise anything – food or fun. It was all done for us in the best way possible. As a family we relaxed into it with smiles on our faces. Any family would undoubtedly enjoy it, not just the Children or the Adults but the whole family. You have thought of everything and provided it all.
We will undoubtedly be coming back – in fact we never wanted to leave!
